Since start-up funding concluded, the Institute has had to depend on self-generated funds and endowment earnings for operations. The Institute has leveraged these investments by a 12 to 1 ratio, helping communities, schools, community colleges, universities, and other partners attract grants and government contracts totaling $24,116,254.Of the $24.1 million, $3.9 million came to the Institute. Over the past decade, an average of 15% of these funds remained with the Institute for program management and administration. The remainder was disbursed to communities, schools, community colleges, and universities.
