  Communities with good jobs, good schools, and good quality of life led by informed, principle-centered citizen leaders who collaborate in a regional approach to development – this is our vision for East Mississippi and West Alabama.


PROGRAM OF WORK

  The Montgomery Institute operates in the eastern portion of Mississippi and the western portion of Alabama:
  To train and develop citizens in leadership skills ->  CITIZEN LEADERSHIP
  To promote strategic thinking about and analysis of societal issues for the betterment of the communities in its region - > STRATEGIC THINKING AND ANALYSIS
  To disseminate information designed to promote human and infrastructure development - > INFORMATION DISSEMINATION

FY 2002 IMPACT

  During fiscal year 2002, The Montgomery Institute leadership programs reached 603 citizens. Strategic Thinking and Analysis initiatives involved 195 citizens. And, information for decision-making and accountability was disseminated directly to 1,066 citizen leaders and was made available by newspapers to over 14,000 citizens.
