According to the State Department of Health, Mississippi has one of the highest rates of Diabetes in the U.S.  However, the state’s standing is improving by a recent climb from 50th in the nation to 48th. Dr. David Lott, Endocrinologist at Baptist Anderson Regional Medical Center says, “Diabetes is a dangerous long-term chronic disease that can cause disability. It can lead to complications such as heart disease, stroke, blindness, and even amputation. Lott was the CHIN presenter on Diabetes at the Lunch & Learn event.
